The living area leads into the kitchen, hand-built by local craftsmen to architect designed plans. The Buttermere slate work surfaces echo the colours of the nearby fells, which are beautifully framed by the kitchen window. Under-floor heating has been installed beneath the local stone floor.

The kitchen has fitted Whirlpool appliances, including range cooker, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave and dishwasher. The crockery and glassware have been selected for you to dine in style. The kitchen is also fully equipped with all the cooking utensils you might need. Whether you cook for yourselves is up to you –  on our links page we have details of a local company that hand prepares meals and will deliver them to your door.

Waitby school has three bedrooms; the master suite features an en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi. The interior design of the bedrooms incorporates natural materials and luxurious, high thread-count Egyptian cotton bedding sourced from a nearby supplier. While the master suite has French windows leading to the front and rear gardens, both the other bedrooms have superb views across the fells.

A further shower room and a separate WC downstairs complete the picture.

The property is centrally heated and electricity, fuel, logs and kindling for the wood burning stove are all provided. The high quality bed linen and towels are included. For guests staying two weeks or longer, a weekly maid service will clean the property and change the bedding.

There are large gardens to all sides of the property, with original dry stone walling completely enclosing the grounds, making the property safe for children. The old boys’ toilets – complete with wooden seat – still stand in one corner of the grounds, but are now used as wood storage and can be used for bikes and outside toys.

Garden furniture is provided so guests can sit and take in the panoramic views all around the property. There is off road parking for up to four cars.

A cot and high chair can be provided, but please request these on booking.
